Serenity Koi Ponds

    In 1995 my wife Linda and I got married on our property on Johns Island S.C.  One day we ran across one of my old aquariums out in the shed.  We decided to get some fish, and set up the aquarium.  We soon had several aquariums in the house. One of the tanks had six Koi.  They started growing and  soon had out grown their home.  Some one  working at a fish store in town stated that Koi could live outside.  Well we decided we needed to build  a pond.

    Just like most people, we went to Lowe's and got all the stuff we needed to put  a pond in the back yard. (yea right) It took us a day or two but we soon had  a pond.  The day we where going to move our Koi to the pond outside, we got up that morning to find all of the fish had died in the night.  I didn't like that much at all. We didn't really know anything about keeping fish. Although we could get more fish, I needed to know how to keep them alive. Later we found out they had died from Ammonia poisoning. I started reading, researching, and talking to anyone who knew anything about Koi husbandry.  Soon I had enough knowledge that I was able to keep my fish  healthy and alive.  

    Through my years of  experience cleaning, repairing, building and maintaining ponds,  I have gained valuable knowledge that enables me to build Koi ponds that promote  healthy environments for the  fish as well as low maintenance for the pond owner.  I am now known in the Charleston area as a high end Koi Pond Builder.   I do some water gardens and fountains, but my true love is Koi and Koi Ponds.
